Psycholog. and Educ. Guidance
Arcadia provides its students not only with academic learning, but also with appropriate social, emotional and attitudinal behaviour.
The department of Psychological and Educational Guidance, carries out its tasks coordinating itself with the whole Educational Community. Our job is directly related to the needs and interests of students, parents, tutors, and teachers. It is an essential tool in order to stimulate our Educational Community.
It is essential for us to know the possibilities, knowledge, skills, interests, limitations, effort, etc., both of the group and of every student, according to this, our main aims are:
Teaching students how to think.
Teaching students how to be people.
Teaching them how to live and share with others.
Teaching them how to behave.
Teaching students how to make decisions.
Motivating our students.
We will achieve these aims through a set of proceedings which are shared, designed and looked after by the Educational Community. Some of the main proceedings are:
Talks and discussions about interesting pedagogical matters for parents and tutors.
Academic achievements.
Cognitive and Emotional development.
Improvement of the students' process of socialisation.
Prevention and follow-up of difficulties in the teaching-learning process.
Personalised follow-up of the students with special needs.
Proposal and launch of tutorial action from Nursery School to Bachillerato.
Personalised professional and academic guidance.
It is our desire to provide our students and their families with the best of our personalised attention; so this department wants to be highly accessible to both students and families, and of course to the teaching staff.
